Any suggestions for a simple reverb pedal that would sound good with a 5 watt Supro?
Unless you want to sound like youre in a studio, then it's all kinds of things.
No studio stuff. I just want a simple reverb. I’ll check out that pedal
How much do you want to spend?
I loved the Toganga as a fan of spring reverb drip. It's doesn't do that very well but it "feels" like part of the amp. It's dry signal through until you mix it full 100 percent wet. Works great with dirt in front or after.
I just bought a HOF Mini for my Tone King Gremlin. It does the job. It’s reverb, no big whoop.
If you are looking for something cheap, I like this one:
What sort of reverb do you want. Do you want splashy, sproingy, slightly out of control springs?, if so, only springs will do. Digitech stuff is pretty good, spring emulation aside, for room/hall/plate and subtle springs. The Mosky spring reverb does subtle to moderate spring reverb emulation very well, but like all other emulators, falls very short when chaos needs to be summoned. I like chaos. Sometimes. For Chaos, I use a Danelectro Spring King, but I aspire to either a Surfy Bear, or building a standalone 'Fender' reverb unit.
The Boss pedals are quite good, but spendy.
On the cheap end, the Mosky and a host of Sino mini-pedals too numerous to count. Next up comes the Digitech(s) then Boss.
Budget, which reverb type you prefer, and do you want chaos.
EHX Holy Grail?
I picked up a used Wampler Faux Spring unit that does a really good job capturing that character. I think they now make a mini version.
It does what I need quite well.
Yup, got one of those for my non-reverb amps. Sounds great for $50.....
I've had quite a few reverb pedals but the boss rv5 is probably the best so far.
....And I bet it doesn’t even drip
I have a Mooer Skyverb and for simple reverb, it sounds great and is built more solid than the other cheap, Chinese pedals I’ve tried. If you want to get freaky with it, it does end up having an unnatural digital sound to it. The Mooer ShimVerb was alright.
"Second that' on TC Electronics Hall Of Fame (mini), and EHX Holy Grail (nano), suggestions.
Wampler Reflection is a very nice-sounding pedal that seems to go on sale for $99 on the Stupid Deal every once in a while. Does a pretty good spring & a terrific plate. Flint is overkill unless you want the trem side, too, but there are a lot of good sounds in that box.
Good bang-for-buck, cheap but sounds good, Marshall Reflector :
For a "simple reverb pedal" I'd say get an EHX Oceans 11. It does all sorts of verb and a few delays. Even can simulate tank crash like if you kicked a tank. Drips a bit as well.
But in non-simple pedal form, a Surfybear Reverb (any model) has no equal imo. I have the compact and it has two settings, mix, and dwell and a real tank. Just awesome.
