Very niche question but I’m wondering if anyone has direct hands on experience with both Revelation and Aria Pro II (current stuff coming out of China factory) to compare? Have a project in mind that will involve some drilling, so want a fairly inexpensive base to start from but unfortunately neither brand is particularly available in the states for me to try them out before doling out the cash.

Specifically looking at the Aria 615-MK2 and the Revelation TTX-DLX, both nashville pickup configuration. From what is available on YouTube, I feel the Revelation wins hands down on tone (something about the blend with the undercover middle pickup…so nice), but like the physical appointments of the Aria more. Belly cut, arm cut, shaped neck heel, roasted maple. Standard tele control plate, which would at least make the kill switch mood straight forward and reversible.

In keeping with the budget nature of the project, dropping $$$ on pickups to chase down tone is less than ideal, but busting out the wood working tools to shape the Revelation (with a double bound body) seems like a true fool’s errand!

Hence why I’m hoping to find someone with experience with one or both to say whether I definitely should or shouldn’t buy.

If you want to sing the praises of Michael Kelly (Triple 50 or otherwise) or another nashville setup in the $400US range that I might not know about, that is also welcome! Thanks!

Hey, welcome!

No experience with the 615-MK2 or the TTX-DLX, unfortunately.

I have fairly recently played the Aria 714-MK2 HSS 'Strat' though, and the 714 is very similar in terms of quality and construction to the 615.

It seemed nicely built and felt good in the hand, but the electrics/pickups all seemed a bit lifeless. I guess that's to be expected at the price point, but in terms of the physical build quality, no issues that I was aware of, apart from the usual 'needs a good setup and decent strings'. Felt as nice or better to play than similarly-priced Squier/Epiphone models.

I hope that's of some use.
