I’ve finished my studio and most home projects. I intend to practice more, host jam sessions and play out more with my band. It’s been a long time coming but so far I’m enjoying the hell out of it. I haven’t posted much lately but now I can hang out more and hopefully contribute. I think I’m going to like the golden years!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!.....I retired almost two years ago, and it's great. I once worried that I'd have periods of boredom and lack of stuff to do, but that hasn't happened yet. ;) In fact, I sometimes joke that I need to find a job and go back to work....I NEED THE REST!
A funny thing is, I still wake up in the morning, determine what day it is, and, if Friday, think, "YES!"...silly because EVERY DAY is Friday. Best wishes.....

Closed my business last year and except for some consulting when I get bored it is nice to be retired. It can be challenging to manage your time. I try to find projects around the house to schedule and do. I'm more willing now to take on bigger tasks that I might have hired people to do before. The wife still gives me looks when I start bringing out saws and hammers and power tools.:)

110 weeks and counting. I'm soooooo ready to retire.

My retirement music room is ready to populate. Gonna be fun figuring out where to hang 30+ banjos...

I retired in 2013 after figuring out that I'd have enough coming in to be just as broke as I had been most of my life. I can't recommend it more highly. Converted an old shed to a studio and started trying to learn how to play guitar again. Don't feel any need to do stuff. After 40+ years of doing other people's stuff, it's nice to just choose which type of nothing I'll do today.

    Congratulations....:)
I retired on 12/26/10 just shy of 64.
I was just tired of it all.

In fact, I was so happy I lived long enough to experience the 'retirement' concept I wrote a song dedicated to us old fossils and finished it in about a week.

(if not, that's OK too....of course, any comments are welcome)

A great day to all......especially the ones who aren't quite there yet. :)

Might be too late for me; I forgot to retire. I turned 73 in April, had my, first, heart attack in May and after cardio rehab feel like I'm 60 again. I am looking at retirement but will have to have a part-time or temporary job to keep from getting bored.

I will retire on December 21st of this year. My last day is officially the 28th but I am not working that week. Looking forward to it. Looking for a bigger place on Kentucky Lake for retirement. don't have that part worked out just yet.

Congrats. Perhaps one of the best choices I ever made was to retire early. Nice studio. Enjoy and live life to the fullest.

I retired at 53 years of age on July 10, 2005, after 27 years as a sworn law enforcement officer. Retirement is great. Sounds like you'll be making the most of it. Congratulations!
