Tommy was one of those players that, if he had lived, had the potential to turn the music world on its head.

So long now...still a great loss.

I've had several copies of 'Private Eyes' and 'Teaser' on different formats over the years, never gets old.

And 'Gettin' Tighter' shows what a great combination Tommy & Glenn Hughes were...if those two had kept it together more, who knows what might have happened. Two young men broken by the 70s music 'biz', Glenn lost 20 years, Tommy lost his life. Tragic.

Tommy's playing on Spectrum still sounds valid after 47 years

I still use that Cluckey out of phase tone of his on that album, as an example of One of the best recorded Strat tones, Along with many other tones he has on there.

To this day I have patches to approximate his wiggling of the echoplex-By changing time/repeats of analog delay w/my expression pedal.

I first heard Tommy when he was playing in the Colorado band Zephyr. I saw him in concert when he joined Deep Purple.

A bass player friend of mine saw him with his solo band in Ft. Worth TX. the night before he died.
