That was many meals for my self. How about you? Hand packed ice cream for a Dr Pepper or Root Beer Float. I sure wouldn't let my kids do that today,(if I had em).

No. I’d have a baloney or pbj then the cookies and milk. And never brand name cookies. Always those 300 in a box cheap arse sugar cookies cause we had 10 kids and Mom never bought name brands.

used to chow these like crazy... I could eat a bag of them in two days with a couple of glasses of milk.

We usually had cookies that my grandma made laying around... these were more a college treat.

In the 70s, it was a bag of "grass" and a bag of Chips Ahoy...

I'm pumping the grandkids full of both when they are able. I'm in favor of anything and everything considered decadent, that I feel isn't. On purpose.

Never chips ahoy in my house, Pepperidge Farm and my fave was lemon nut crunch.
Actually in the '60s we got govt surplus foods, before food stamps appeared.
Odd bunch of stuff they must have kept in silos or bunkers to survive nuclear war.
Lots of rolled oats and rolled wheat so we made granola.

Now and then we baked some cookies but not often.

At school I was exposed to modern industrial snacks but that stuff was never at home.

Oreos for me, with a half gallon of milk. I could kill that off no sweat.

For some reason, my parents used to give me a loaf of bread (with the celophane wrapper) and a bottle of milk (as delivered by the milk man). Which is crazy. Because I was born in the mid '60s. In Brooklyn ...

Yup. Milk, Chips-Ahoy, Dr. Pepper, and Pop Tarts. Somewhere along the way, it turned into pizza, weed, beer, and pasta. Now bourbon, sushi, and cheese.

The chips ahoy package used to come with a comic on the back, featuring some hero with a mask and cape, who would fight some villain

I remember "Pop, chips and a bar" was a viable meal-solution when I was a kid...

I was always up for pint of chocolate milk and a BOX of animal crackers - you know, the box that looked like a circus wagon.

And then there's Hydrox, the imitation Oreo. I actually liked 'em better...
They don't make 'em like that anymore.

If you guys had any of those things today, they would probably throw your digestive system out of whack. Especially the milk. wink wink.

Aside from fresh vegetables almost everything else my parents fed me is now frowned upon for one reason or another by the new food experts.

Still alive and well, so the food police can take their war elsewhere.

I have no idea what I was eating to destroy or reshape my body in the 60’s or 70’s.
It most assuredly included ice cream and Cokes. It could have included any of the following: French fries, Fritos, Oreos, Chips Ahoy, Twinkies, Hostess cupcakes, Snickers, Butterfingers (or crushed Butterfingers in vanilla ice cream).

I was an equal opportunity user of assorted junk foods.
