    Toots & the Maytals version of "get up, stand up" is not the same song as Bob Marley's -- and it does have a cool bass line.

    Ya Mon!

    HI.

    I love reggae & associated musical stylings. To the point it affects some of my sartorial choices. But, I can only really listen to it in summer. Good thing it's getting hot here...

    Hi again.

    I know this one is thrown out there all the time, but I still remember the first time I saw this. I think it was my first visual experience of the Wailers and reggae. That scratchy guitar at the start and everything after, so elemental, so sparse, so perfect. I recorded it on VHS, and basically wore it out.

    Bonus bits.

    Well, in the spirit of reggae covers of non-reggae songs, I submit this:

    Reggae = SOUL!!!

    A Bob Marley concert was a religious experience.
