2017 MIM Standard. I have wanted this tele for along time, would’ve preferred the American pro with the rosewood neck, but not willing to pay that much!

 

Here's my La Cabronita Especial next to that other guitar. And my 1966 Mustang (thought I would post this one, too, just for grins), both In Dakota Red, my favorite guitar color.

Over in the Bad Dog Cafe Chip has been posting a photo of his red Tele with himself and his children on Valentine's Day for about 14 years. The thread's called Happy Birthday to my Tele and it's the best thing on the web!

 

My first telebuild (partscaster) it turned out to be a lovely guitar. Allparts swapash body with no grainfill, so it's really open, just a thin layer (four coats) of fiesta read nitro. Thickest maple baseball neck I could find, also Allparts. Nitro laquer vintage tint. (That's why it's a righty neck – lefties come in modern C only.) It has a Gotoh righty bridge because that way the bridge neck is tilted the other way. A little less treble on the lighter strings, and instead a little more on treble on the bass side. Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Vintage for Tele in the neck. 250k CTS pots and an Emerson .047 POI cap.
I play it (as you can see in the pic below) through a 40w Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue, clean channel, with just a little bit of Boss SD-1 for some grit.

 

I have 2017 Mim Standard CAR MN too, aint like rosewood. Glad i bought it before it was removed with new player series :

This is exactly what I've been wanting ever since I sold my Fiesta Red MJT Strat last year.

Cool! Resembles in many ways the one I built some months ago. What's the neck like on your guitar? I wanted a nitro sprayed really fat bastard, so I had to go buy me a righty neck.

 

Is that a Lollar Royal T neck pickup?

 

I have a MIM Telecaster, totally stock, in Candy Apple Red which has been my main guitar since I bought it in 2011. Is it possible that a good Tele is the only guaranteed cure for GAS?
