    Help me decide which flake to put on this Surfcaster. Whichever color I go with I’ll add 10% holographic flake. It with be double bound with checkerboard binding

    I’m having a hard time visualizing both of these. Better do one of each so we can do a legit side by side comparison.

    My Surfcaster is black, but I still hanker after the blue one I had back in 2004;

    Double bound sounds nice.

    I thought politics was off-limits here.

    Just kidding!! I can't decide either. I love a red sparkle guitar, but I also love a blue one. Good luck with the project.

    I voted blue. That was based on the shade of red you have which, at least on my screen, seems paler than the ruby red you used on the doubleneck from years back.

    That ruby red or the blue you showed above is an impossible call - you couldn't go wrong with either.

    Look, the neck is already blue, and the pickup and control cavities are yellow, so definitely go with red flake. See, you got Primary Colors. (Oops that sounds like politics, don't it?)

    I am partial to blue because I have a Lake Placid Blue Strat, but red would be nice.

    Red is the only way this turns out well.

    Besides, everybody knows the red ones go faster.

    Why not both ?

    Either in areas or in a mix, ending up purple like.
