Someone interested in something I'm selling wants to trade in this. It's metal flake finish 60th anniversary MIM strat with some upgrades. Pickups and trem block.
No pickguard. Says Special Edition on the back of the headstock. I have no idea what it's worth. About the same as any MIM I suppose? Cant find out much about them.

Never seen one. Maybe a MIM neck on some other body. Top horn looks wrong.

Call Fender with the serial number, they'll tell you what it was when it was sold.

I just found another identical sold on Reverb a couple years ago. So I guess it's a thing... That ad said 400 made.

Just me, from what little I see and from the short description I'd say about $300 (+/- $50). I mean, a 60th anniversary that isn't stock anymore.....

Just don't buy into some other dude's upgrades....that's on him

PS - might want to check how this one is wired because I'm only seeing 2 knobs.

This was an FSR for Mars Music. Late 1990s or early 2000s. Run of 250 in metallic red, 250 in black. Same as an MIM Standard, otherwise back routed 2-pot controls, direct mounted pickups, and no pickguard. Red sold out quickly, then black sold out. Never produced again.

I kinda like it too. I dont another guitar nor a Strat especially. I may offer him something for trade in though. The Metalflake is cool. The trem block is Brass. It has "Rocket" 50's wind pickups. Never heard of them.

There are no such things as "upgrades" when you are buying a guitar, any changes from stock should be used by the buyer to negotiate the selling price down. One man's upgrade is another man's abomination.
