Crackle - Bauhaus - Tele into an H|H for a lot of it. Crackle is a compilation to dip your toes into Bauhaus.

    Cracking good cover.

On all or most all of Steve Cropper's recordings at Stax were played thru a 60's tele and a tweed Harvard.

Me too, but from a recent Roy thread here it's clear that many considered it way too shrill.

UPDATE: Brad Paisley on recording the "Play" album:

"We use the old red Vox by itself a lot, or with another amp".

"I used my ’68 Tele with the ’62 AC30 and Z-Wreck for the first half, and the second half is the Trainwreck and Z-Wreck together, to get a bit grittier. "

So @tubeToaster - we are both right kinda :)

    He also says....

“When it comes to guitar sounds, the most important thing is the amp. The second [is] mic placement. The third is the guitar. But all [are] superseded by touch.”

Also seems from the interview like it's important to use two amps together. Certainly, combining one cleaner and one dirtier amp gets you places own amp won't and is what I've done for years.

I wish I liked his material, but I really don't. I will listen to a couple of tracks on Play, because the tone and playing are wonderful.
