Welcome and good luck with your journey.
Right there with you, only most of the time I can't remember the question. What were we talking about?Welcome to the forum !!
I like the primitive look of the CRL...I think you guys are right, the CRL is the original type. The OG is also excellent. It's the contacts that matter, the rest never wears out.

Didn't say I never could solder. Go back and read all the previous post. I said in essence, at my age , with my health condition, failing eyesight and an ever worsening tremble I feared I couldn't do it up to my standards. Can't do too much these days up to my standards, or so she tells me. Personally it pains me deeply that I can't do all I once could as I'm one independent sumbitch! If you live long enough you might find out what I'm talking about. Thanks for the welcome and the encouraging words@old school fender Welcome aboard!
Why throw money away on a pre-wired plate? You will save at least half the cost by doing it yourself, AND you will learn a skill, AND you'll be playing a guitar that you played a vital part in putting together.
Arguing that you cannot solder is not the correct answer, because you'll need to make solder connections anyway when installing the pre-wired plate.
The magic foo-foo claimed by most all suppliers of pre-wired plates is all marketing B.S.
^^^Read that line a few times^^^
Even if your solder connections are not as pretty as someone that's been doing it for years, you can still make perfectly serviceable solder connections with inexpensive equipment and a little bit (a very little bit) of practice. Electrons do not care how perfect-looking a solder connection is or what color a capacitor is.

I'll check them out. ThanksWelcome to TDPRI. I use Klein pickups on a couple of my guitars and consider them excellent. I remembered seeing that Klein also offered wiring harnesses so I thought I throw this option in.
Pre-Wired Harness - Telecaster 3-way, Standard Wiring. 3-Way, Vol, Tone.
Pre-Wired harness, all soldered, just remove from the mounting board and screw to your control plate.www.kleinpickups.com
