ps, so if shopping for a used Dan Echo, be sure at the store to plug in guitar/pedal/amp and jiggle the cable plugs at the pedal jacks to check for crackling indicating broken solder connection.

A little over your budget of $100 but a used one should come in under (Reverb has one for $110 right now). Purpose built:

For now, I'm going with a Joyo Analog delay. I have a Joyo Vintage Overdrive and I like it, so why not?

    Thanks all!

BTW...the BLT switch problem is usually a poorly tempered E clip that has no springy to it.
Take the old one to the hardware store and match it up.

DD-3. While I love analog delays in isolation, they often can be to murky in a band situation. (To me)
I have a DM2-WAZA and a Carbon copy, but I only use them in in clean country situations.

That is the Achilles’ Heel of that whole series of pedals from Danelectro. I also had (still have) the Fab Tone, and it did the same thing. Fixed with solder and crazy glue. Failed again. I remembered how much I actually used the Fab Tone and stuck it in a drawer. The housing is so sturdy that I keep thinking I can re-use it for something.

TC Electonics Flashback 2 ... very versatile Delay in itself but with the option to craft the sound to quite exact parameters through software you can use with it.
However, no need to get to technical as you can just download the "Quick Slap" Toneprint into it.
Set the Delay around 11, Feedback around 1 and Level around 1 or to taste.
"Quick Slap" was developed by Troy van Leuwen for the TC .... he describes it as hearing an amp mic'ed across the room
