But lately I'm totally lost in an older (1998) John Scofield album called "A Go Go" - if you don't know it, I can't imagine any guitarist not falling in love with the spare, funky stuff all over this collaboration with Medeski, Martin & Wood. Tasty as all get out, instrumental, irresistible.

Lately I've been listening to Anna Tivel a lot. She's a hell of a writer.

The War on Drugs for the last couple years still going on...

And his homie Kurt Vile too. Oh look it’s The Sadies....

Really nothing is under the radar anymore, it’s all there on Spotify, YouTube and various blogs, so NO EXCUSE :D

    Love you guys!
Ok I downloaded about a dozen albums based on this recommendations. Some I had, some I knew about, others I had no idea. Can’t wait to put on the headphones and listen this weekend.

    Hi.

    You could try Marlon Williams.

I saw him a few times when he was still part of The Unfaithful Ways. Thought he was pretty good. Wikipedia lists him as ‘alt-country/ folk / bluegrass,’ for what it’s worth. He’s from New Zealand, so I figure there’s a good chance you’ve not come across him.

For whatever reason, all female singers today -

New to me, mellow and great and unknown: Laura Cantrell - Not The Tremblin' Kind album

Becoming better known, and not so mellow but still basically country music:

Sarah Shook and the Disarmers - any tune or album

Unknown, mostly forgotten, my favorite unknown indie country band: The Everybodyfields. Plague of Dreams Album
