I'm thinking of switching over to a head/cab situation (I've always been a combo guy). Here's my parameters:

********1. Budget: $1000 or less, cheaper the better obviously. ***************
    2. 15-22w. I could go 12 watts if it's a loud 12 like a z m12.
    3. Hand wired
    4. Prefer 6V6s but I like Zs EL84s
    5. Has to be good for country. I play mostly country stuff with single coil telecasters (Lollars).
    6. Good pedal platform (I get my lead/od tones from pedals).
    7. Pentode/triode switch (or high/low power switch) would be cool but not a must.

It will be going through an EarCandy 1x12 American Vintage Classic cab loaded with a Cannabis Rex.
Most the clubs in Nashville are small-medium sized rooms and stuff is usually mic'd.

****i need something I can use on stage but also at home in my apartment for pedal/guitar demo videos.

I'm looking at a couple Zs (Ghia, M12, z28) idk if I could afford the z28.

I'd be into other brands to so just recommend me something.

*******Most important is the wattage, budget and that its hand wired******

If I can't find something I can afford I'll probably just finance a Vintage Sound 20 combo through HB Music and stick with what I know!

    Thanks.
    Gary.

VHT Special 12/20RT is handwired and comes in head format. They are not expensive. 12 Watts with 6V6s but with 6L6s gives 20 watts. With an adaptor will run EL84 or EL34. It is hand wired, has a pentode/triode switch and a watts control to enable you to run it down to less than one watt for bedroom use. The circuitry is very much in the Fender Princeton camp, so if that is what you are looking for. I play mainly telecaster through the combo version, rock, pop and soul covers, suits what I do in small venues, for anything large i use the the line out into the PA. Might be what you need.

    Allen Amps

Take a look at Allen Accomplice and/or Sweet Spot.

Both are available as head or combo.

You can have it hand wired by Dave Allen or wire it yourself.

I have a Sweet Spot that I assembled. Emi L'il Texas speaker; 28 pounds; great little amp.

Yeah I'm looking into the Sweet Spot and the Accomplice Jr. I've never played one though.

Lots of choices with Phaez, although depending on what he's offering in a particular model, you might find yourself buying a head cab separately. I have a Pasadena and love it.

I would PM Muchxs here on the forum and others.

Ive Never seen 1 unsatisfied customer.

He can build anything anyone else can and probably do better work than most. He also uses the Best Parts he can get.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to PM Muchxs.

I recently picked up a good 5e3 head for cheap on the bay. I'm very happy with it.

Keep your eyes open, a deal does happen every so often.

+1. For $1000 you can get a lot of frenzel. If you haven't checked out his sight, do so.

I don't know offhand the price of a Gries head in your output range, but I just got a Gries 5 about two weeks back - and its truly a killer amp. I have another post with a link to a demo I did if you'd like to check it out.

I'll throw in with the vht 12/20 crowd, but get the non RT model. RT model seems to have fair share of complaints of manufacturing defects. Plus reverb on it seemed kind of meh when I demo'd it. I'd rather have my Digitech RV-7 pedal. Trem seemed good though. Plus RT model about is about $130 more expensive.

Anyway being able to flip a switch and pop in 6v6 or el34/6L6 power tubes is great feature. And footswitchable boost.
