Recommend a good nail polish color for me

Did a crown and level on my baja tele the other day, when I pulled the tape the finish chipped off in a couple places. I applied some clear nail polish the wife had in her supply. It seems to be working well, but I’d like to find a color that matches the slight tint of the neck. Anyone tried this before and can recommend a color?

Sorry but I don't have any ideas of colors for your fretboard.
I would recommend these things for your future fret work, better for me than using tape. I've used a hairband wrapped around the neck to keep them in place.

Woah...
Serious adhesion issue there.
Neck lacquer shouldn't come off with tape.
I assume you used low tack painter tape.
Anyway...I do a LOT of touchups with nail lacquer and don't know of any gradations of clear.
You might have to try mixing.
A dab of brown, maybe.

Yikes. I've taped off a lot of fretboards, but never had that happen.

Apply clear. It will darken the wood a little.

Stewmac touch-up lacquer pens. They do the thing! I’ve used them in the past for smaller blemishes, so not sure how it’ll look here. But, it’s real lacquer in a variety of colors. One is tinted for ages lacquer like is on most/many (maple) guitar necks

I taped a tele rosewood fretboard for a level and 3 of the dots came out with the tape when I pulled it.

Wow, the finish should not come off that easily.
I would leave it alone and just call it "mojo"
