    Hello TDPRIers,

I recently traded a 2000 (previously owned to me) Gibson SG Classic w/P90s in used but good condition for a 2014 G&L Custom ASAT Bluesboy in Tangerine Metallic with original hard case all in mint condition. I couldn’t be happier with this trade!

(Back in the day I had an ASAT Special but with a maple 7.25” radius that really gave my hands a workout for rocked out bendy leads. This Bluesboy is rosewood with a 12” radius that is much more suited to my hands and ears.)

I love p90s, but you plainly came out ahead. That tangerine metallic is a great color.

I have owned 2 of the SG Classics...used them extensively for live gigs for about 10 years. I also owned a lot of ASAT Specials...they are definitely more fun than the SG, but just weren't right for the bands...all gone now..I wish I had one of each.

I had an ASAT Special back in the 1990's and it was a beautiful guitar. Unfortunately, those necks were too narrow and thin for my hands. They have a different spec(at least those back then)from Fender aftermarket necks and if I could have swapped it out for another, I would still have it. I ended up trading it for a set of drums.

I also had a SG Classic. I though those were one of the best values in the Gibson catalog. I sold mine after I purchased a 2013 SG Standard. I kind of wish I would have kept it, but I just wasn't playing it once I got the Standard.
