I used to walk over to Real Guitars on my lunch break and drool over some of the guitars there while I was still working in SOMA. Chris was always friendly and knowledgeable.

FWIW: Stewart Port is a great repair guy, especially for vintage Martin and Gibson acoustics. He's located on the Oakland Riviera below Jack London Square and has done repairs etc for Eric Schoenberg's shop.

Eric's shop is well worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Like @DougM and @Stanford Guitar I am based on the Peninsula, and dropped many $$ at Gelb over the holidays. I went to Real Guitars in 2009 and bought a beautiful red 1987 MIJ Fender Squire Stratocaster. Nice shop, easy transaction.
