I'm starting to become pretty certain that the Dumble is a fabled and mythical beast, or, there's only one of them in existence.

    you know, like fruitcake

    :p

Wow, at that price I need a second for a spare. Not my market but someone will make sure it’s real and pick it up.

I remember seeing one for 10K in the early 90s. Pretty good appreciation on that price if i had gotten one back then.

I hope my Peavey lasts me while I save up for my Dumble. I'm pretty sure it will.

I was gonna say the same thing, think it may have even been discussed here, reverb doesn’t show how long an items been there anymore but I’d guess it’s been on there at least a year, maybe 2

Three people have it in their cart, lol. I added it to my cart, too, lol. I urge everyone to put it in their cart. This could be fun as long as you don’t actually purchase it, lol.

That things not even worthy of a klon, I guess if you have a platinum and diamond covered klon they’d play well together

It’s got free shipping. That’ll save you about $350.

i think that seller's also the one that was trying to unload a BF Delux as the amp Clapton used on Disraeli Gears https://www.tdpri.com/threads/eric-clapton-deluxe-reverb-for-sale.778633/

I tried one out around 1995. I’d never heard of a Dumble at that point. I was shopping for an amp, in a really cool shop, and they had one. The guys there were insistent that I try it, even though it was not anywhere near my budget. According to them at that time, “you can’t pass up an opportunity to play one of these. It might be the only one you ever see in person”.

It was a combo. Supposedly owned by Joe Perry at one point? Who knows. Anyhow, it was $6500. I thought (and still think) that’s an absolutely RIDICULOUS price for any amplifier. The money they sell for now? I’m not even going to share my opinion on the matter. It wouldn’t serve any real purpose.

Oh, how did it sound? Ok, I guess. Wasn’t what I was looking for. That was the day I bought my first Rivera. A Fifty Five Twelve combo. Bought it used for $500. I really enjoyed the hell out of owning that amp. And it paid for itself in a week.

If it’s under $10,000 I may take it.

I’m not saying this shop is but I’ve heard there’s a couple shady shops on Denmark st.
One famously a couple years ago had dealings in a bunch of stolen vintage gear

I’ve always maintained that if I’m buying a piece of gear over a couple thousand dollars (especially vintage) I’ll get a plane ticket or travel to the place and actually check it out myself/ have it verified

Interesting that the seller claims that in '89 Howard was building reissues of the amp he custom built for Robben?

I’d just go to Ceriatone. They’re the ones that buried all the
mythology. Nik thought it through and he got there. It’s not really a Tone you want all the time because CHEAP is a genre unto itself. Anyways I hope Big Al got at least a Shelby 427 for his 15 minutes.
Doesn’t VHT have one out these days for $700&change?

There were three of them at Carter’s Vintage last time I was in there a couple of months ago. One was vintage Fender Tweed Bassman 4x10 that Mr. Dumble had “Dumblized” many years ago. One was a SSS, and one was an OD Special.

My understanding is that they’re all different anyway.

The OD Special had a $100,000 asking price. The other two were in the $40k range I think.

I had the opportunity to buy an OD Special in 1997... for $2,000. But I bought the all original vintage AC30 next to it instead because it sounded better at the volume at which I was going to use it.

That amp's been for sale for months.
