I don't think the OP has anything to do with this Tele, that story and the eBay ad.
What a mess.
I don't think the OP is the seller, as he wrote 'found this on ebay'. And that link he posted with the LP Nocaster is genuine and hilarious.
So, what I'm saying is that he's drawing or attention to someone else's post and silly claims and ideas about price.
$35K for a guitar that barely has anything original about it left? Smells like a scam to me.
Why aren't all the guitars on that list prototypes? There are quite a few I can think of, pretty weird ones by well known companies.
Agree, Seasicksailor, after reading the whole thread, it appears that the OP found this on ebay and was just posting the listing. Unfortunately, the way he posted was confusing; seemed like he was the owner/seller of the guitar....
Yeah I saw this when it first popped up last night and it was too confusing to reply to.
I considered that it might be a troll or an ad, but not really, and no replies then.
I did pretty quickly grok that it appeared the OP decided to introduce himself to the TDPRI by posting an ebay listing, but that and the fact that the listing itself was full of inexperienced google search garble made me stay the heck away from any ideas of adding commentary.
Maybe the OP had had a few and added Les Paul to the thread title because he was using a LP for his avatar pic?
Maybe the OP had noticed that we always insist on pics and like drooling over REALLY cool guitars, but didn't quite realize that this one is as annoying as it is cool due to the seller providing confusing and mis information?
I'm sure the OP hoped we would be excited to see his first post?
Sure as heck I'm sure!
A Les Paul Nocaster!!! It could be a nice match with my Marshall Princeton Deluxe Amp...
I was up until 5 am this morning and could not go to sleep for nothing. Maybe that is why I did not notice some things like LES PAUL telecaster.
But even in my sleep deprived state I noticed that finish looks a little off. Haha.
I guess the honour of inventing a Les Paul Nocaster goes to that web site https://rarest.org/music/electric-guitars.
Well, that one actually was Les Paul's No-caster! Talk about confusing - but I guess the "apostrophe s" really makes a difference!!
Strange stuff and yet the wave of the future.
....people who "forget history" includes those who revise, reinvent, mis-remember or cobble together misinformation off the net.
OH HEY! LOOK over here!!!!
The body of the guitar on eBay has the same exact date as the neck on Les Paul's No-caster!!!!
'guitar was professionally ruined by Elderly Instruments in 1995'
Well the deceased owner from the band called the Jokers must have been laying it down on a curve and had to sand off the road rash.
Les Paul was playing guitar in The Jokers, laying it down when Rick Derringer dropped in for a beer?
I just thought it was an incredible coincidence that two guitars (very rare Nocasters at that) that were being discussed in the same thread were both initialed by Tadeo Gomez' on the same date.
Never mind the fact that two different TDPRI members called "telemnemonics" posted the same thing on the same date!
Mysterious things happen today...
