I think it has a few to many nines and should be $9.99.

I bought a small-box RAT new in the 80's for $60, and sold it on Ebay in 2009 to some guy in Spain for $150. Mine was in MUCH better shape than the one being shown. There are better pedals now...I'd never get another RAT.

Even I, the king of all Rat fans, wouldn’t buy that at that price if it were the last one on Earth. Ridiculous.
Chicago Stompworks Mr. Vermin $70, done.

I’d hop on this but I’m saving for a Harambe shaped Cheeto.

My rat was found at the dump by my friend in the 80s. He wanted my hand-me-down 70s Distortion +, so I traded him. I think we're both happy, since no one paid anything.

That’s actually good news if someone pays that for it because all of you with vintage ones have a good investment.
Plus I have a early nineties big box reissue and they’ll be the next to go up in price after the originals.

I doubt it will sell at half that price even The coveted original rams head big muffs can be had for “only” 500 bucks or so

Maybe priced at $500, but how many actually sell....but you know, people at one time leveraged all they had to invest in tulip bulbs.

Theres someone locally who keeps listing an early 2000s black Russian muff for prices that would be high for the green Russian ones. Google is your friend.....

But on a more serious note, who is the market for these? People who owned one when they were new typically kept it or have since replaced it, they're in production by companies hand making them for less than $100 with original or superior components, and you can buy a kit to make your own.

Millennials and gen Xers who feel they should buy it because they're at that point financially and can is my only guess......

But you don't understand marketing "price points".......psychologically, $999.99 makes people think, "At least I'm not paying $1,000.00.....it's a BARGAIN!" Yeah, I know....stupid. But it actually works in retail. ;)
