It sure is beautiful, but it's no lake. It's outside an island on the south-east coast of Norway, only about an hour from where I live. I've been on the island, but not on the bottom of the sea ... ;)

The island Hisöy in the background, as seen from the mainland city of Arendal.

Amazing looking place. I might have to go for a holiday some time.

Cold as ice though I guess.

In the winter, yeah!;) In the summer it may even be hot, but normally temperatures are pleasant: 68-77(max 86) degrees Fahrenheit air temperature and 60-68 degrees water temperature.

And of course you are most welcome.:)

BTW, former TDPRI member Steinar Gregertsen (RIP), master lap steel player and guitarist, lived in the city of Arendal.

Thanks Telemarkman for the info and welcome.

Definately on my destination list. It looks absolutely breathtaking.

I hadn't heard of the late Mr Gregersten. He probably drew much musical inspiration from living in such a beautiful environment.

He was definitely world class on lap steel!

Here's a little example of his playing ... I'm proud to call him a friend!

Best liquor you can have with a heavy Christmas meal (pork ribs, sausage, potatoes, sauerkraut, sauce). Helps you melt the fat. It's based on potato spirit and spiced with caraway and aniseed.

    Most popular Norwegian Christmas dinner:

And the Aquavit: The one on the right is my favourite!;)
