Ray Wylie Hubbard is an incredible songwriter!

I mean, who doesn't love Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother lol...

But seriously, he's written so many other wonderful songs.

Here is a new one that just came out, with an amazing backing band.

I need to catch him live...

What are some of your favorite Ray Wylie songs or stories? The guy is truly a legend.

I’ve always wanted to match the tone on Snake Farm!

He is great. I live in Texas and I have been getting to see him play going back about 40 years.

I’ve seen him a half-dozen times and he’s always entertaining...Snake Farm, Mother Hubbard, S—— You, We’re From Texas, Drunken Poet’s Dream...

He co-produced my cousin’s first album...and of course, my cousin acted like an idiot and got upset about something (because people were more excited about Ray than him) so I don’t know the status of their relationship.
Ray also wrote a song or two with my ex-cousin-in-law (whom I wish we’d kept in the divorce)...she was a member of the Trishas, and a spectacular singer/performer.

    I love his music...

    He’s a nice guy, and a neighbor.
Ray used to come by my old day job, South Austin Music fairly often.
I occasionally see him at the grocery store.

One of his songwriting gems, and not as discussed of late, is the album “Loco Gringo’s Lament.”

With all the barber shops closed, the mayor of my little town is beginning to look much like him.
Other than that, I can only claim to be a fan.
