Ouch, this is a good one @blowtorch . Yup, I gotta confess it has to do with the salsa hotness. Really hot ends up in the fridge for too long. Mild salsa is gone before it hits the fridge.

Dang, now I gotta get some corn chips. I have been trying to avoid them if I can. It's all your fault.

My heart doctor is not going to like this on Monday.

We might have four or five containers of different salsas in our fridge at any given moment, but it's rare that one doesn't get used before it goes off.

Of course, I'm growing jalapenos and serranos all the time too - we put the chiles in things and then put salsa on top of that:eek:

All good salsa gets used up in my household, regardless of chip status.

Don’t even try to tell me y’all don’t know what “chip cereal” is.

I make a poor mans nachos with a bag of corn chips, jar of salsa and shredded cheese. Add guacamole dip after heating in microwave and browning for a few minutes in hot griller.
No wasted salsa.

The salsa has to be eaten within a day or two of opening I think.

My salsa runs out before the chips do. Then I run out for salsa. Then the chips run out before the salsa does. Then I run out for chips . . . .

My fave salsa is by a company called 'Arriba' and they have mild, hot, and extra hot versions. They also do a chipotle one. I like El Yucateco products too.

Anyone tried thos Blair's Deathd Head sauces??

Now for the controversy - which do you prefer - tomatillo base (green salsa), or tomato based (red salsa)??

If I had to pick just two types of salsa to get me through my days, one would be pica de gallo and the other a green fire type. Pica de gallo gets heaped on most things; and the green fire is used more sparely because, well, it's full of serranos.

No more of that. Always a reserve supply of bag of chips and jars of salsa. I have a way of rolling the one bag of chips into the next so I am not eating the salt and crumbs in search of chips.
