3 acoustics
10 electrics
Plus
1 bass, 1 banjo, 1 mandola

Kind of a slacker

Well now, not the whole story; forgot about 2 acoustics (one of which is sort of long-term custody for daughter who decided not to play)

So ratio is (acoustic to electric) 1:2

Not quite such a slacker.

Heresy here I’m sure but I don’t find myself GASing for new acoustics, so I only have 3, all very different, and none newer than 2005:
* nylon strung 3/4-size guitar which I learned on and still play classical on, inherited from my mum
* steel 6-string (Yamaha FG-335) which I got 40+ years ago as my “main” acoustic
* Korean-made Fender-branded 12-string which is the new boy from 2005, and which does get gigged occasionally

Against that I have 5 6-string electrics, none older than 2015 with the ones from the previous 30 years having been sold, traded or given away, and a Squier P-Bass. I’m always thinking about replacing, upgrading, or expanding the herd of electrics.

I cant find a well made 12 string in southpaw
I scored this used for CDN$700....like new with a serious gig bag. Worth every penny and more!

I have never purchased a flattop acoustic guitar and do not want one. The closest thing I have is a Line 6 Variax 700 Acoustic, which is a solidbody guitar that looks like a flattop.

I have approx 30 electric guitars.

7 electrics to 3 acoustics.

I wonder if it comes down to which one you started out with? I started with electrics and have detoured to acoustics lately.
You might be on to something. Then again, a good acoustic costs more than a good electric so budget plays into it.

I started on acoustic but own 2 to the 3 electrics.

You didn't specify instrument types. Sticking just to stringed instruments, on the electric side I have three guitars and a bass (total: 4), and on the acoustic sixe, a dread, a squareneck reso, a roundneck reso, and a mandolin (total: 4).

So my ratio is 1:1. And if you decide the bass and mando don't count, it's still 1:1.

3 acoustics (2 of which are my daughter's)
1 electric
1 electric bass (again, my daughter's)

Damn. I have to win the lotto and go shopping.

I’ve upped the electric to acoustic ratio.
I acquired a nice Epiphone Riviera.
So, counting my two basses, 16 electric instruments, 3 acoustic.
