It's true. Rascal Flatts is breaking up. I only got to see them live once at either the '01 or '02 Alabama National Fair in Montgomery but I do recall an awesome performance. Don't know the reason for the breakup but I suspect other endeavors. Their music will live on to become Country/Pop classics.

Great news! Now if we could just get Florida/Georgia Line to follow suit...

Seriously, Rascal Flatts are incredible musicians, even though their music is not to my taste. Tons of respect for those guys, and it's cool to see them going out on top.

As much as I don't care for their music, I thoroughly enjoyed the column that Joe Don Rooney did for Guitar World a few years back.

Should have mentioned that they are well respected in the Gospel community as well and while not heavily regarded as crossover, they excel in the Southern Rock and R&B genres as well. We'll miss 'em.

My sister couldn't attend one of their shows about 8 years ago and my wife and I ended up going
and I thought they put on a great performance. Very pro level with great songwriting, playing,
vocals and sweet harmonies. Some faves - "What Hurts The Most", "Bless The Broken Road" and
"I'm Moving On" which I guess they are now.

Rascal Flatts is not country music in any form, shape or fashion.

Goodbye, Rascal Flats. Please don't do a reunion in the future. We still won't care.

I like that “What Hurts The Most” tune but maybe I just like the video..?

His voice took some getting used to.

It always seemed like if he spent as much on a personal trainer as he did on grooming products he’d have at least looked healthy/in shape.

I saw a headline saying that they were breaking up after decades of stardom and mass appeal. I'm embarrassed to say that I've never heard of them before.

In the traditional sense, you're right. but you can't deny the impact that they have had on Country Music in general and the music world overall

Well, will this be like the Garth Brooks or Brooks & Dunn "retirements?"...i.e. they'll try other things, get bored and/or be unsuccessful and be back with a reunion tour in 3 to 5 years?

I have to say I don't care of them at all but you cannot deny the talent, success, or staying power.

Agree. They’re cheesier than Velveeta (wait, that’s not even cheese!) but I’ve seen them on TV and they seemed very good, polished, and professional at whatever it is they are doing.

Hmm...I never loved their music although I did open for em years ago right as they got popular. They didn't hang out and sign authographs afterwards which peeved a lot of fans off, lol. Pretty much everyone I had ever seen in a concert of that size had stuck around and signed autographs afterwards, even if it was 100 degrees. Hell, I was dressed in black and sweating my ass off too. Afterwards my front man asked me if I wanted to go hang out on their well-air conditioned bus with em and I said f' it. Didn't feel right abandoning a bunch of fans like that, especially considering I had managed to meet so many other famous country musicians in similar instances, even if I wasn't playing with/opening for them. The rest of my band decided to stay out there and sign autographs for disappointed Rascal Flatts fans instead. I'm sure that counted just the same, LOL. Guess I shoulda been signing that sh*t as "Joe Don"...

In any sense. They're not country, period. They sound like a boy band.

Tried to be objective listening to them because of the tremendous popularity I just kept thinking that I must be missing something. Nope , can’t stand them. And I agree with previous post re: FL/GA Line.

I had to look them up. Were they formed on one of those tv talent search shows I've never been able to watch for more than a few minutes.?
