Not my pictures, but this was an incredible double play to seal the win last night.

Finally got a replacement for a shattered chain ring selector on my ancient bike, so decided yesterday would be a good day for a ride along the towpath of my local canal...
Change Bridge.jpg

This is one of the six 'Change' Bridges that the Macclesfield Canal is known for. Built 190 years ago, the bridge was designed so that the horses pulling the narrowboats could cross over without having to be unhitched from their boats, for those places where the towpath changed from one side to the other - the sinuous curves allowing the towrope to slide over without snagging - a beautiful example of the stoneworker's art

I love canals, but there aren't many in my area, except a very short restored stretch of the mostly derelict Thames and Medway canal.

I used to enjoy riding the canals in London years ago before they got too busy and no fun at all. I did walk a lot of canal miles though with a friend who was aiming to walk all 4000 or so miles of them. Lost touch with him so I don't know if he completed the project.

(I'd love to see the ancient bike!)

Another screenshot from a video. I did a hike/run with my little Wonderdog today. I didn't realize I was recording in slow motion on the first video, the beginning and the end are pretty cute ☺️

Another video from the run back down the hill, don't worry, the 🐶 makes an appearance:

I think water is a magical element and any location is enriched with it... and it lifts the heart being close to it.
But I grew up in Salford when the canals were in a terrible state, and nobody in their right minds would want to walk along them. Fortunately they are much better looked after now, and prized for their beauty and history, and I have one a couple of hundred yards away...
Nice picture and a cool little bike - does that fold up? Mine is just a cheap Halfords one probably 20 years old and heavy as a Russian tank but still pretty cute - like a kid's bike, haha!
