My 2008 Les Paul Standard got a makeover. Replaced Burstbucker Pros with Fralin Pure PAFs, ripped out the printed circuit board and replaced with regular "'50s" circuitry, and removed the locking mechanism from the output jack and replaced the jack with a Puretone. Also replaced cracked tone and volume knobs, dressed frets, added new D'Addario 10s with a wound third, reconditioned fretboard, and adjusted intonation. This is now a killer guitar.

I love craggy, wind swept pine. The bottom pic reminds me of Virginia (Bull) pine when it grows in Rocky soil. Pines have character.
Yeah they're so adaptable. These exact same trees grow extremely tall and straight in the forests.

The area in the pics is limestone, just rock basically. Was an ocean about 80 million years ago

That orange tabby looks a little cream. Dilution gene? Our grey mackerel tabby has some kind of dilution gene. His coat color and contrast faded as he got older. From grey and dark grey to blue with lilac.

Interesting observation, I had not noticed but could be winter coat fur grows in more creamy white that washes out the orange?
Kitten color maybe also changes to adult, but because I am onlyna cat loaner not a cat owner, I miss the long term observations.

replaced the jack with a Puretone.

I'm kind of on the fence about those. I've never really had any problems with Switchcrafts. I was given a guitar that had a Puretone jack and I didn't know it. Inserting a plug was much tighter than my other guitars, so I thought, "This jack is obviously binding on on something, so I need to loosen it and rotate it." I pulled the jack out and to my surprise it was a Puretone. I guess they're supposed to be like that. I kind of feel like that unnecessary force is going to wear the nickel off my plugs prematurely.

So, was the tone more pure?

I know it’s funny to post a pic of a stock tank but look closely…note that the water is not frozen. This year I discovered stock tank submerged heaters and bought one. Man, it sure beats chipping ice with a claw hammer in freezing weather.

@jays0n I mean, I started to post a picture recently of me with a guitar strapped around my neck for the first time since I broke my collar bone, but the obvious gut and man boobs stopped me dead in my tracks.
Well .. I ain’t winnin any competitions. Actually maybe we can put my photo on the fridge to scare everyone away from snacks in the middle of the night.
