Both my wife and I are into ancient Egyptian stuff and the last year or so she has bought various tiny tomb toys typically strewn about in burial sites.
Usually dark stone or lapis but the last two are amethyst, supposed to be 1400BC so 3400 years old.
The seller is widely known and buyers report bringing purchases to museum curators and dealers where artifacts are confirmed genuine.
Also it seems no crimes or grave robbing, the stuff is legit and legal.

I get tasked with attaching bails for hanging, and i just did this one which has a "nefer" carved into the back.
Used to ve thought it was some sort of stringed instrument but more recently it was decided the thing is a heart with a trachea sticking out of it.
Read up on it if curious, Wiki has info I have not read.
Bending cutting and soldering silver with guitar wiring tools while not damaging the flawed amethyst carving.

Ouch.

Ok, no cheating with the Google. See if you can guess why my trees came down.

I did all the cleanup I could this morning.
I can navigate the driveway now, though there are two trees down I could only scoot a little.
The small burn pit I have is full, and will be for quite a while.
All (blankety-blank) cedar/juniper.
I didn’t see this coming!

I got my front cleaned and my roof is safe and sawed the back but it got dark. Tomorrow! But my stupid cedars are fine.

Mopoke owl...a visitor, sheltering as some rain comes over, he's not stupid...

nocturnal birds mostly, he'll stay here all day until it gets dark... big eyes shining red back at me...

kind of bird you can walk right up to in a forest and never see it until it's right in front of you on the branch... they pretend they are invisible, stay very still...;)

Heat pump technology?
A google search nets ambiguous info, and locally many if not all recent construction has it.
TV news warned that heat pumps stop working in very cold weather but with a mix of suggested temps.

So here is one example of outside temps over night then inside temp arriving at work this morning. Heat pump was not producing any heat at all. This morning the temp was up around -1F.
