If you had 2 necks with the same specs except one radius is 7.25 and the other 9.5, would one feel bigger than the other or does that just come down to the profile itself?
My two telescope are both mij wiyh extremely similar necks. One is 9.5 and one is 7.25.
I've not found one to feel bigger or smaller at all. Intact I thought they were identical necks at one stage before I found the 7.25 more comfy as I tend to curl my index finger a bit too much for bar chords here
So I don't think the tedious really plays as much into it rather than the profile and neck thickness itself.
It could be taller in the middle or it could be lower at the sides.
If you quote a neck thickness (eg at first or 12th fret) then it will be at the thickest point, between D & G strings: so for the same neck thickness a smaller fretboard radius will give a thinner neck under the E & e strings.
I've never noticed much of a difference. At least not enough to make me think, as as generalization, one is always going to feel bigger than the other because of the radius. Profile/carve has always made a much bigger difference to me, enough to override radius entirely.
