I think the writer of the obituary didn't know that Boil Them Cabbage Down, amongst those made-up titles, is a legit fiddle tune
And the Darlings were a legit band (less Charlene and Briscoe) whose real name was "The Dillards"

I saw her with the Dillards, George Lindsey, the guy that played Ernest T. Bass and the woman that played Thelma Lou nearly 20 years ago at a Mayberry in the Midwest festival here in Indiana. The actor that played Ernest T came in from the back of the auditorium throwing plastic rocks around lol. It was hilarious with that crazy laugh of his.

She sang with the Dillards at this 2019 show, still in good voice.

Rodney Dillard is the only original band member still living.
