I loved her stories of Jimi's early days scuffling around Harlem for gigs. She was a strong, tell it like it is black woman who didn't take no mess. She was featured prominently in the 1973 WB doc on JH & the American Masters one of a few yrs ago.

I seem to recall a bootleg with an alternate version of a song where he mentions her name.

    "Foxey Lady...."

She was quite a character indeed. It's easy to see how Jimi (or any man for that matter) could be enamored with her.

    RIP

This, my friends, was a real life "Siren" as told in ancient Greek mythology. She was captivating, mysterious, gentle, kind, wild, fun, beautiful, and a voice you simply cannot get out of your head. Even through the screen, one cannot help but be enraptured by her. Even her name is mysterious. RIP Ms. Prigdon. The life you led was as interesting and mysterious as yourself.
