Good actor sorry to see him go so young, but he obviously did not take very good care of himself. One of his roles that was a favorite of mine was the role of Winston Baldry in "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt.

    Aw no..

The Sopranos is one of the best TV programmes ever made and Mr Gandolfini's performance as Tony was a big part of that.

    RIP Tony.

That is a shame. Too young, we would have enjoyed his work indefinitely otherwise.

The first Sopranos episode where he takes Chris's Lexis onto the sidewalk to tag that guy was filmed about 2 miles from my house.[then]

    RIP

Very sad to hear. Loved him on the Sopranos, and in the few other things I saw him in. He was phenomenal on that show though.

A talented actor and a hell of a man. He'll be missed.

I felt like I knew Tony Soprano. The show was filmed largely in areas of New Jersey where I grew up or knew very well. I know guys like Tony from the old neighborhood, you might say.

Great actor, and he'll always be remembered for his work in The Sopranos. Sad to see him go so young.

    So very, very sad.

Tony Soprano was arguably the most iconic character ever on TV. Certainly in the group with Archie Bunker, Hawkeye Pierce, Matt Dillon, Lucy/Ricky.

    Just so very sad.

Pretty shocked to hear this sad news. Great actor, who can forget that look on his face as he held his hand over his nephews nose after the car crash? chilling as hell.

    Arrivederci Don Antonio

Arguably the best character portrayal in TV history. One of those times when the person and the part are perfectly matched.

He was a perfect Tony Soprano.

For those of you that haven't seen it, rent "True Romance." It is NOT a love story. James plays a very wicked hit man. Great movie besides.

    Rest easy, JG :(

Very sad, way too young. Tony Soprano is such a fascinating & well played character.

Totally agree! (even though, of course, I never would have really known a mobster in real life... that's what made it all the more amazing I felt like I 'knew' him)

What a great actor. I know nothing about him as a man, although I have read a story or two that he was a genuinely good guy.

RIP, and peace to your family and close friends.
