I now own a Quilter Superblock US for about two months.I play it through an Eminence 12" speaker in an open diy cab (most used guitars are Telecaster with Texas Specials or Les Paul Studio with P90s )
After some experiments I prefer the "65" amp voicing, to my ears it is the most balanced sound.
Which amp voicing do you prefer and why ?

Well here we are! Had been researching Quilter Blocks and was hesitating due some vendors asking quite a bit o cash for them.
Magically one appeared for sale used for a very reasonable price and I bought it. Arrived today. Just to say that I was very surprised to find that the 61 Blonde got me closer to that Keith Richards live Open G Fender Twin sound than the 57 Tweed model did. I stuck with it and didn't fiddle with the 57 at all. Perhaps with some in depth tweaking I can find it in the 57.? This thru headphones though so at this point I do not know what a cab will reveal.

How loud does that thing get? It's what, 25 watts?
It's rated 25 watts but on one of the FB Quilter pages I read that Pat Quilter said it is a 50 watt amp. FWIW I had a Quilter Interblock which was a cool amp and it was rated 45 watts, the SBUS that I have is to my ears as loud, has more options too.
I mostly tend to stay on the 65 setting but I do like trying out the 57 and 61 settings too, especially with different guitars, Strat, Stratosonic w P90s, PRS SE DGT humbuckers.
I've been using a home built semi open back 1-12 cab with a WGS ET65 and it sounds great, clean or with gain. I mostly use the SBUS clean and use effects for gain.
I also experimented with the XLR out direct to the PA speakers, to my ears it sounded great too.

I switch around on my SBUS. I do find the 61 works well if things are getting too loud. It really cuts. Otherwise I go back and forth between the 57 and the 65, depending on the song and my guitar. They all work well for me.

As to watts, the Super blocks are supposed to be 25 tube watts, but I’m not sure. I haven’t had something like a DR around to compare/contrast. As for 50 watts, the Superblocks are definitely not 50 watts. The 1x12 Cub combos, which have the same voices as the Superblocks, are listed at 50.

where do you set the Cab sim switch and do you turn the gain on the amp halfway or maybe less? I only recently bought the UK version. plugged a DS1 into it

I've just left the cab sim on normal. Gain less. I'll bring it from the pedal(s) when in need. You using the DS1 for the VOX amps?

I tried the DS1 & SD-1 on all 3 amp types. I plugged them through the FX loop and inline through the guitar input, just to see. In all cases, the sound was not as you describe !! the best gain is what's built in to the amp
