Couple hundred in Cheaterville, couple hundred more in Tomahawk Chop  City.*

To say the higher-ups at MLB are bummmmed is a wild understatement. (“LA vs Boston ?! C’mon - nobody’ll watch that !”)

Quick fun fact : At one time we had both Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer in our bullpen… at the same time! (We only talk about one fondly any more o_O)

I’m just hoping it’s not on TBS so it doesn’t interfere with Big Bang Theory reruns…

*Explain to me again how Cleveland and DC and the Peach Pit are any different?

As far as I'm concerned, the baseball season is over. Absolutely zero interest in watching any games involving the cheaters. Not even sure if I would have watched if the Dodgers we're in it.

Professional sports? Reality television. I care about as much who wins The World Series as I care who wins Survivor.

you may be right that they’re bummed Houston is there, but I can assure you that they’re not bummed Atlanta is there. LA has the largest market share of a very large state, but the Atlanta Braves have an entire REGION OF THE COUNTRY. I live in SC and I promise you that probably 80%+ of the people from Georgia through the Carolinas, up through Virginia and WV, over to Tennessee and back down through Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas are Braves fans.

the Atlanta Falcons don’t have this same huge market share because they have to contend with the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans. But the Braves has no regional competition, they are THE TEAM of the south and always have been. They don’t represent 1 city, they represent about 8-10 different states.

Least objectionable overall result to me would’ve been Bosox over LA, but this matchup is personally unwatchable. I’m just annoyed I had to reup YouTube TV past the trial on Wednesday to watch the wrong team win both CSes.

Don't care but I'll predict the Braves will fold, as they usually do when it counts.

Unfortunately, you’re probably right, but it tickles the **** out of me that after the debacle of the All Star game being moved out of Atlanta, MLB’s “Big Dance” is going to be about 55 miles down I-85 from me!

I wonder, how many trash cans can Atlanta fans fit into Truist Park?

It won't be on TBS. Joe Buck's stilted affect doesn't work there.

No interest in the cheaters and I'm a Mets fan so I'm sure you can piece together how I feel about Atlanta. Zero interest even if I could watch.

I'm sure the Astros have perfected their cheating technique. They probably have small electronic devices, like vibrators in the batter's glove or cap.

The right ump could perk it up considerably.

You're right. MLB should just go ahead and limit playoff eligibility to major TV market teams only: NY, LA, Boston, Chicago, Philly, maybe SF.

You'd think the umps would've tossed the Dodgers and Red Sox a few more bones.... for the good of baseball, of course.

I live in Texas but I’m a lifelong Braves fan. I think it’s a pretty good matchup. After the Braves lost Acuna, they went out and traded for every power hitting outfielder available and it’s paid off. It wouldn’t surprise me if either team wins. I definitely wouldn’t bet on this series.

    Record or near record viewership.

Braves are America’s team thanks to Ted Turner’s visionary marketing that coincided with the accessibility of cable TV. There are Braves fans worldwide.

The Astros have been one of the top 5 teams in terms of popularity and are on a huge roll.

This will be a 5x more interesting series than if the Dodgers or Yankees were in it.

    Go Braves!

Oh, you’re talking about signs? Pitchers and hitters in college and MLB had tobacco tins with a battery and a buzzer since the late 80s. The coach could pulse the vibration in their pocket to relay the called sign. It’s a 30+ year old part of baseball and I’m still mystified why some people are worked up about this now. Baseball players, managers, coaches have been using microphones, cameras and other technology to steal signs since at least the 1950s. So what?

What they do in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse.
