Came across this video. Is this guys take a legit and a quick learning "cheat code" for the CAGED system basics or would you not use this as a learning tool for new students.

I don't think he showed us all that much about the caged thing. He showed how to move chord shapes around, which isn't all too mysterious. Imo.

Nothing "cheating" about it. That's just the basic framework of the system.

His bar chords work, but his ways of barring the A, C, and G shapes aren't how I'd show them to anyone.
And isn't the CAGED system also about learning to play in the most common guitar keys and about using those shapes to build melodies and harmonies. He makes it sound like it's just a system for naming bar chords.
So, no, I wouldn't use the video or his shapes for teaching.
