Hey all, I have a Squier Bullet Tele that I'll be adding an Obsidian Wire 4 way kit to (as well as swapping the control plate for a Fender one to fit the pots, new bridge from GFS to stop setup/intonation and buzzing issues, solid-shaft knobs etc) and I'm planning on swapping the pickups at the same time.

I've heard that to put Tele pickups in series with a 4 way switch, you have to independently ground the neck pickup cover by cutting the jumper from the cover connection to the negative lead connection, and adding a new wire that gets grounded somewhere else such as on a pot (in my case the Obsidian Wire kit has some extra grounds)

However, looking at this set of pickups at Sweetwater (https://www.sweetwater.com/store/de...an-stl-1b-vintage-broadcaster-tele-pickup-set) I've noticed that the bridge pickup also has a jumper connecting to the baseplate that I am assuming is a grounding connection as well. Do I need to also cut the jumper and reground this baseplate?

This may be a newbie question and it may be better suited for another subforum than the Squier one, but I figured the folks here might be equally or more knowledgeable about modding Squiers. Cheers

If you do it to the neck pickup you don't do it to the bridge. It's either one ir the other, but not both.
