There is a quick way to see if you are posting in a thread when looking at the thread index.
You'll see a member's Avatar to the left of the thread title - if you posted in that thread you'll see a smaller version of your avatar in the bottom right hand corner. So you can see the Avatar of the member that started the thread and your avatar to indicate that you have posted in the thread.
