I'm wondering about a couple of things on a locally advertised guitar.

Is a Wikinson bridge stock on an American? or is this an aftermarket?

Also, What kind of tuners are these?

I don't think that a Wilkinson Bridge is stock on any Fender, USA or otherwise. Cannot say anything about the tuners other than they are locking ones. Is anything written on them? Were they originally black or have they been painted, the finish looks heavy and uneven.

The ad looks suspicious to me. That's why I brought it up. The rosewood fretboard is a little unusual but not unheard of. I was pretty sure that the bridge is aftermarket. I've never seen tuners like that on a stock Fender. An American Fender in good condition including a case for $599 would be a great find if it's legit.

Could be a partscaster or has been modded?

The blade pickup is not standard either on any Telecaster I am aware of.

I could well be wrong but that bridge pickup does not look stock to me either.

(Bettyseldest beat me to the post while I was typing)

    I didn't notice that.

Since my aim is to acquire the most traditional, classic Telecaster I can find, I don't think this one suits me. Thanks for the help.

Maybe. But as a buyer, I consider anything that is not original to the guitar to be a downgrade, and that is reflected in my offer. One man's upgrade is another man's atrocity. YMMV.:D

Can't help with the Tele but there's a really nice Warmoth Strat neck on your local FB for $125 with tuners.

Looks like there are 2 and possibly 3 different fonts in the serial #, but if its legit that would make it a '96, which would go with the 50th Anniversary sticker. My 50th is MIJ, so the sticker looks different, but it is also a '96. I don't know what the US stickers looked like.

    This is my MIJ 50th:

If it were an American Standard, that Wilkinson bridge wouldn't fit it.

Well the neck is Fender American Standard - it looks like the 50th Anniversary sticker is very faded out, and the serial number is okay (2 different fonts is normal for the era). But without full photos we can't tell if it has a Fender body or an aftermarket body. We know the bridge and bridge pickup are aftermarket - and as @LutherBurger says that bridge doesn't fit an American Standard body. But it could be a Fender body from another model, or completely aftermarket.
