Hey y'all,

I'm looking to replace the tuners on a 335-style guitar and am wondering if there's a diff between these two. They look pretty much the same but the description is a bit different.

Grover 406C Mid-Size Locking Rotomatics:

Grover 406C Mini Locking Rotomatics:

One is listed as mid-size, the other mini, but the keys appear to be the same size. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

The 406 series are mid-sized by Grover's definition. If someone is calling them minis, they're using the wrong description. The mini equivalent to those would be the 205 series.

Grover has it labeled as “Mini” on the package in the photo, which was from Amazon. The first pic is from Sweetwater and didn’t show the package so who knows how it was labeled. I just checked out the 205s and I swear they look the same as the others to me. 🤨

Yeah, I've run into it before and it's confusing as heck.
"Grover Confusomatics"!

The tech guys at Grover should not be allowed anywhere near guitar work!
They dont even realize what really matters is center of shaft to screw hole. Oblivious!
They dont give you that dimension at all, then they provide dimension to the screw hole center on one.... but to the outside edge on the other!
OP should figure out which screw location works on his guitar!

If the model number and description don't match, either get clarification from the seller or buy it somewhere else. People throw products on Amazon all the time with incorrect information. Whatever page you're looking at doesn't have everything straight.

Amazon is known for counterfeits being sold by third parties through amazon. Caveat emptor.

They may have illustrated one with the wrong pic. A frequent happening in advertising.
