I've been collecting parts for a new Tele for a few months now and have just started putting it together. I've got a Fender Candy Apple Red 60s classic series replacement body and a Vintera 60s modified roasted maple neck to start with. So far I've done a bit of shielding installed the tuners and bolted the neck to the body. I think this will come out very nice. IMG20201206063858.jpg IMG_20201207_173123.jpg

If you installed tuners on a roasted maple neck without cracking at the tiny screw holes then you won't need my help!

It's looking good - can't wait to see the next installment.

This neck never had any screw holes for the tuners like others I've seen so I had to drill them. A 2mm drill bit and a bit of wax on the screws and just a nice firm fit. I had heard of the roasted maple splitting and was definitely worried.

That pickup, if you haven't played it already, is a great choice. Great tone.

No haven't played it and the neck pickup will be a 62 as well.
I've only heard good things about them.

IMG20210201103254.jpg All done except for a string tree and a good set up. I'm very happy with the way it finished up and even though I only assembled it from Fender spare parts I definitely feel an attachment that I don't feel with other guitars that I've bought. It's very satisfying when you get to choose everything that goes into it.

Here's another one I've just completed also using all Fender replacement parts. I went for more of a 50s flavour using a 7.5" radius lacquer neck and OV pickups. The colour didn't come out very good in the picture but it's Olympic White with Eggshell pickguard and I reckon it looks great. IMG20210201103634.jpg
