I hope you meant a Black Shadow and not a Black Widow. I think a Peavey Black Widow would weigh even more. 😛

It probably was the Black Shadow (it was so long ago.... I think I sold that amp more than fifteen years ago!). It was one of the stock speakers, but it was the heavier one.... Ugh!

That's almost down to a half pound a watt! My old Mesa was a 1x12 (with the Black Widow speaker in it) and it weighed a pound per watt.... It

the Mesa ‘Black Shadow’ label is very misleading. I have seen the Black Shadow label on OEM Boogie speakers which were Celestion 90s, Eminence, and EV Speakers. The heavy ones are EVs!!!!
IOW, the Black Shadow label is meaningless as to what speaker is in a Boogie…you have to deduce what the speaker under the label is.
