Hi, just curious... anybody have any clever ideas for using push/pull pots in pedals? I cant think of many pedals that utilize these, maybe the Keeley Katana or Fulldrive but not many others.I have a few of these and would like to find a way to integrate them into a pedal or two!

Switching between different types of clipping diodes in a drive pedal

Hard/soft knee control in a compressor

A fuzz pedal that switches from big muff to super tonebender...

Cool! I'd love to figure out how to make it a clean blend pot in an overdrive or compressor, switchable to be active or bypassed.

An older version of the Barber Direct Drive had a push-pull pot too, I just can't remember what was its function... mid-boost or something.

Something I've been thinking that would be useful (for me): selecting between 2 different values of input caps on a fuzz face. Like 2.2uf (stock) and 1uf (less bass).

Activating/deactivating the diode clipping option on my Briggs' "64" booster.

On a SHOD - deactivating the "focus" knob for a super sweet gain boost. What I did by accident, but would be cool to try that again.

But all of the above can also be done with much more simple SPDT switches, I reckon.

You can use the push/pull pot for almost anything you'd use a normal switch for. However, in my mind it makes sense to have the switch do something related to what the pot is doing. For example, if the pot is for the tone control, the switch could be used as a mid-shift or a tone bypass. If the pot is drive, the switch could be for different clipping diodes or for kicking in an extra gain stage.

You could definitely use it as a active/passive blend pot, which is a great idea. I'd have to think of how that would be implemented.
