Google just chased me down and made me look at this. I'm not a particular fan of reliced guitars and I can't imagine I'd buy a purple guitar, but I have to admit this caught my eye. I don't know if this is gonna be a Guitar Center exclusive or available more generally. That's the only place it pops up at the moment. But definitely mixing it up from the BSB and Sunburst options. Could it possibly play as well as Danish Pete's purple Custom Shop? Probably not, but that's what I initially thought of...

Seems like an answer to a question no one asked, ever.

yeah, I like to see some departures from the BSB/sunburst stuff. I've heard many good things about the Road Worn series in terms of playability and pickups and such. I hope someone else drinks that purple cool aid though - so I can enjoy it vicariously. Maybe at some point in the future, a person could get a good deal on a used one...

EDIT: after clicking on the link, the first thing I see when returning here, is a purple tele on the side banner ad space...wow! that's instant gratification, sort of.

Typically, I only buy exceptional guitars that speak to me, and try not to fret too much about what they look like. Of course, in a perfect world I'd like cool looking guitars too, but my default in life is function over form. Having said all of that, I did lust after a Fender Custom Shop Tele in a similar purple that got bought out from under me on Reverb a while back. I have played tons of FCS guitars and they have all been exceptional instruments, so after thinking it over I decided to go for it without playing it, but I was too late.

Yeah, Google is really freaking good at that. You look at something once and it won't let you rest until you've bought one, and it doesn't know you bought one, so it KEEPS hitting you with the same thing...

Is this happening to anyone else? I followed that link and the purple guitar photos are really blurry. Odd.

I like that it is double bound.

Looks like Pete Honore's tele that Andertons put out..except for the double bound bit. I'd play it :)

I don't think this one is double bound. What looks like binding in some of the photos is glare on the edges from flash or lighting. No mention of binding in the specs, either.

Mine is blurry for a couple seconds until it fully loads, then it clears up.

Mine is all clear but doesn't come in double bound body, like it does for some of you.

You're right. Must have been a slow connection for me. I'd like it without being road worn. Aint that your job?

I’m with you all the way. I’ll put the wear on myself. Or hand it to my niece and nephew, they know how it’s done :) I realize I’m not a typical consumer but I like the color. I’m a huge sonic blue fan but after that I tend towards more distinct colors. But we need to appeal to as broad a market as we can so that there are interesting used choices for the next generations. I believe we have butterscotch pretty well covered.

OMG that is gorgeous! I love purple! And I don't mind the relic'ing. Wait....maple? Meh...I prefer rosewood. 7 1/4" radius???!!!! I'm out!!!! 9.5", no more, no less!!!! 9.5" radius is the new "vintage" radius...that's the truth!

I used to think that as well, but I found that the problem for me is tiny vintage frets combined with the 7.25" radius. I picked up one of those road worns, not knowing what the radius was, only knowing that I liked how it sounded and felt. Seems like a jumbo frets combined with a vintage radius is the perfect sweet spot for me. Who'd a thunk?
