I know I'm full up, but I still browse Guitar Center's used pages for Takamines now and then. Yesterday I came upon a "lawsuit" F-312S, good condition, $400. I've been pretty much over it with the 'suits for quite a while, but that particular model is sort of a grail for me. I need one. No-brainer. I hit "Add to Cart" and put in my info.

But when I hit the "Continue" button to finish the sale, I was returned to the account info page. It took me a couple tries before I noticed the problem. A red flag at the top notified me the item was no longer available, and I should remove it from my cart. Somebody had beat me to it. Sh-s-s-s-s-s-s-sugar cookies!

    As I've said, I'm full up. But, dang. . . .

If I thought you were serious, I'd be all over your PM box!

    . . .but I'd wonder about problems, why you're selling it so soon. . . .

. . .actually, that's about twice what that guitar sold for new. And it's 40+ years old, and neck resets are a problem if the guitar needs one, so I'll just wait for my sanity to come back.

That particular model does grab me, though, and it probably always will. If anyone sees one around (the S is important, solid top) I'd appreciate the heads-up.

    P Thought,

Maybe look at the situation a bit differently -- your instincts about finding a good guitar were just validated. Someone else just happened to beat you to it. :)

He who hesitates gets out with all their money!

I could fill a barn with all the stuff I almost bought, stuff I saved up for, stuff I showed up with the cash for after it was gone etc etc.

Could also fill a second barn with impulse buys!
Bummer though if a grail gets by like that.
It (the grapes) was probably warped (sour).

I gotta say, more than once I've hit the auto higher bid button on ebay just as the dollar amount went up, so my bid was higher than I saw as I hit the clicker. But then was fortunate to be outbid by what in retrospect turned out to be a bid happy fool.

What is it a copy of?
I have some very nice Martin copies by Washburn.
Two Martin and one I think is a Bozo copy 12 string.
Washburn is to me like Takamine is to you.

Ventura for electric archtops,or better still D'Angelico.

There's an old thread here somewhere about one I missed on e-Bay. At the time I was sweating that I'd win it, and having second thoughts. My bid went down in the last-minute e-Bay flurry. Now I kind of wish. . . .

Life is sometimes hard for a Takamine nut.

I forget. @LGOberean pegged it in one of the threads where I was posting about my "rescue" camp guitar, which is the lam-top version of it. I looked, but couldn't find his post. It's OM sized, 12-fret slot-head, no face dots, 1 3/4" nut, hog. . . .

You have a lot more nerve that I do to buy a 40 or so year old guitar sight unseen. I would automatically start adding up the work that I was pretty sure needed to be done.....

Thanks, that's a beauty. It says "listing sold". I guess I'm not the only Takamine nut in the world.

I've never been very good at browsing, listing, selling, or buying on Reverb. I'm not sure why that is.

That has happened to me more than a few times with gear on Reverb. It has taught me not to get emotionally invested in gear when I'm purchasing it. That's a lie, I'm still licking my wounds. Fuuuuudge Brownies! Golden Donuts!

A lot less sense, I think, is more like it. You have helped me greatly with my irrational impulses. Just this one model still toots my horn. . .I'll get over it.

Edit: have I mentioned, I'm full up?
