Fair enough; it's definitely not his best video.

Aside from that, it looks like he's abandoned the sadness part of his act here. I liked it when he played up to that sadness. He seemed to draw strength from it and used it to pack emotion into songs that were powerful. It worked well for him.

Puddles Pity Party = Big Mike Geier, although Geier only claims to be Puddles' spokesman. :)

Why blame a guy for having a bit/ a grift/an angle ?

Sabbath did it (ooooh - spooky !) and it worked for them...

I was gonna link his clip from America’s Got Talent where everybody went ga-ga over him but I think it would just fuel the meh-ers !

For what it’s worth, I fully credit Bill Kirchen for us doing Folsom Pinball blues...

I’ve played in rockabilly bands, and once got really drunk with the reverend Horton Heat. So maybe the clown and I have more in common than I thought.

I think your crown is full-size, though, right? Like this guy's?

I thought it was a cool novelty song when it was done forty years ago by Little Roger and The Goosebumps...

I am so glad they covered the latest version of the theme song where the Professor and Marianne get the billing they deserved. It is quite possible that being continued to being known as "The Rest" could have caused some major mental anguish in their lives.

"You're living in the past man! You're hung up on some clown from the sixties man!"

An old girlfriend of mine was deathly afraid of clowns, midgets and Oompa Loompas. Puddles would give her a heart attack. I don't understand it either, clowns are funny.

My brother had this weird thing about clowns. We lived in the sticks and he never had a bad experience from what I knew. But one day we go to the big city to the department store and there is a clown walking around making balloon animals for the kids. My brother freaks out, like really freaks out and starts screaming and pulling away from my Mother to the point that store security came and thought my Mom was trying to abduct my brother.

I found out later that my brother used to torment him with a ceramic clown my Grandmother gave my mother. It was all of 8" tall and was painted up with red curly hair, white face with a red nose and cheeks and a white one piece jumper with three big black cotton balls on the front and red clown shoes. Apparently is was one of a series of porcelain clowns my grandmother started collecting.

It kind of looked like this.

Anyway my brother would take that clown and hide it in my younger brother room. He would position it where it was "watching" my brother. He would put it behind a book shelf, under a desk, on the window sill, and once under the bed. He would tell him that it came alive at night and moved around on its own. He also told my brother that he should not touch it as if he did the clown would come alive and get him.

I don't think my brother likes clowns to this day.

Really? Again?
Edit: Apologies. I read what I wrote and realized how salty I sound. It’s just getting really old. I love cool mashups. But does the dude have an original idea for one? And would anybody care if it weren’t for the gimmick?

JD,
When I was able to gig, I did a Funked Up version of Daytripper by The Beatles. Imagine "The Power Stations"version of Bang A Gong... That was the vibe. We mashed it up with the Hair Of The Dog Talk Box break.. Double verse the I Found Out line, but just slam on the repeat .. I...Found ...Out.

Yeah...Good Times.
;)
