DSM has SO much public art, with an amazing downtown sculpture garden and a chit-ton of murals around town. I'd post some, but there's just too much goodness!

A horse is not art yet this one is ridden into a tourist town that has no horses or livestock and left outside the bar where he gets oohs and ahhs due to being a beautiful thing placed there for no apparent purpose.
Just saw him tonight but his rider who looks more Country singer than cowboy was nowhere to be seen.
I waited for the crowd to dissipate but the best I got was this girl and her Mom who asked me questions about the spectacle.
Functions like that John Cage piece where the audience reactions complete the performance.

Can this be art?

Hard to imagine art on this scale but it started in 1947/48 and continues. I've visited 4 times roadtripping and if my health allows it I'll be going again.
