guess you shouldn't keep them all in one place. Consider who knew you had them?

Huh? What should he have done, scatter them over various people's houses? I don't know about you, but I keep my guitars where I live!
How about, I guess people shouldn't steal other people's ****?

Does he live someplace that is extremely remote?

25 guitars were stolen in one event. I'm trying to picture backing into a strange residence with a large strange vehicle and going in and out (removing 25 guitar cases).

No one saw anything? Seems incredible. It's a terrible thing. Stealing a musician's musical instruments....the bad karma is remarkable.

people shouldn't steal money. I don't keep all my money in one bank. if one has valuables, one way to protect them is to disperse them into several locations. It won't stop a determined thief but it will slow them down, giving you an opportunity to discover the theft before its complete.

yes to point out the obvious people shouldn't steal other peoples stuff. But guess what, its already been stolen. Should the gentleman acquire more guitars or recover some of them, it might be a good idea to put some of them in secure storage, whether with a friend, or a proffessonal outfit.

once again, thats a lot of guitars, and I doubt somebody climbed thru the window and stole them all. Obviously someone knew where they were and what they were worth, so don't show everbody your stuff and don't brag about your security system or lack thereof.

I don't tell people where my guitars are but thanks for letting everybody know where yours are....

Your last statement is just dumb. I would venture that 95% or more of the people on this site have their guitars at home. If someone felt compelled enough to come after my modest few guitars, good luck to them!

A few years ago some scumbag stole a guys ability to feed his family.

It wasn't a collection, but a working guys 8 guitars. I don't know if they found the thief or the guitars?

I hope they recover these quickly before they're split up and who knows what.

dumb or safe, if you have a coin collection do you tell everybody about it and where you keep it?

I really don't know what is dumb about trying to help people from saying things that leave them open to theft. Whats dumb is saying people shouldn't steal and that will protect you and your possesions. There are few angels in this world and they are might busy, I don't think they have time to watch over anyones guitars. Its up to us to take care of ourselves and our stuff and if you think that is dumb, I cannot educate you.
