saw him to a similar version at the freight and salvage a few years back in berkely Ca. he was using a talos amp.
That wuz freakin' AWESOME!! Couldn't learn 1/00th of that in 10 lifetimes though ...
if you search for "Adrian Smith" on youtube (Iron Maiden), he does a guitar school session, where he's explaining his warmup exercises and stuff. He's playing a tele for a lot of the segment. Face-melting metal, on a tele. Metal and Teles: two of my favorite things.
Bill is here, but posts very rarely. Here's one post, and you can search the user name for the others: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaster-discussion-forum/59523-bill-kirchen-cd-out-now.html#post602467
Saw Bill live here in London in the room above a small suburban pub, audience of around 80 people. Absolutely awesome performance all the way through, and of course he finished with the extended HRL exhibition. Might be the best gig I ever went to! And after the gig, he comes out to the bar, clutching the Coalburner, and the first thing he says is "anybody want try my guitar?" What a gent!
Holy cow....this guy is bananas!!
How is he doing that?!
The ethereal sound in the background of this is a Telecaster:
I saw Bill do that live in Albany NY earlier this year. He is flat out amazing and a real nice guy to boot. Stayed after the show and signed autographs for a long time.
amazing,make me smile.
But those weak sounding pickups are the reason the telecaster is a great instrument. Higher output pickups, mind you a more modern sound, are not going to be as versatile. The higher output pickups are more mid-rangey and less twangier. They are louder than the low output pickups, though. Think and listen thru your own ears.
howzabout some more proof ?
Larry Carlton (sorry, embedding's been disabled, click the link)
Forrest Lee Jr. (he's a TDPRI'er too !)
wow, dude is awesome, and proves that even when your old you can still rock if you want to
Bill Kirchen isn't just an awesome guitarist, he's an amazing entertainer too, imagine having to learn all those riffs and changes and shout them up as you go!
haha, that was awesome!
I thought it was pretty funny when he went to the sex pistols
For those in the DC area
Bill Kirchen is playing a free show tomorrow at the McClean Central Park in McClean, VA:
Bill Kirchen is Yoda!
I've never seen someone play so good and have so much fun at the same time.
Bill Kirchen you're awesome (and the band too.)
Mistermullens, thanks for posting that.
