Anyone any clues regarding Fender Professional series.

Fender.com - GB - website not showing any at all!

I doubt that link will work outside the UK?

Well there is talk of an American Pro II series coming real soon now so
I guess they are clearing the decks ready for those to appear shortly.

A great Telecaster. I hope for a return.

I know that Fender has been in the process of redesigning and renaming their guitar lines for several years now.

The professional still shows on the fender website I can access here in Cal. But not a lot of models in it. And no Teles or Mustangs.

They may be phasing those out?

Major stores over here suddenly started heavily discounting some Pro models, mainly less popular colours, earlier this week!

Less-popular colors suck. Only the most popular colors should be popular.

I'm seeing 3 pro strats at the link provided - just no Tele options

It leaked a while back. I read an article where someone from Fender said that they used to give them 11 years (if I remember correctly) before a lineup had to be updated and now they give them just four. This was the fourth year of the professional series

That's too bad - I liked those models.

For us Canucks, I did a quick check and there are still a handful out there. Cosmo Music still has one available (TSB w/ rosewood board) on their website and L&M have limited stock of a few versions in select stores only. At least with L&M you can always do an inter-store transfer if you find one you like outside your local area.

I’ve noticed this over the last couple of months as I’ve been desperate for an Am Pro Strat in black with a rosewood fingerboard - the only one (in the uk) that I’ve managed to track down was an absolute boat anchor. Time to look out for any clearance sales as I heard nothing but good things about the Pro series

If it's a good deal, I don't really care about the color ...

I talked to a Fender guy that said new models were coming out, but he wouldn't elaborate. He did say that ash would be now reserved for special series or Custom Shop because of the shortage of ash. I asked because there were practically no American made lefties in their store. Mod shop bodies are American Pros.

As others have said - the American Professional II series is coming soon, from what has been leaked they should be out in October and Fender has taken down the older models.

There are at least 2 Teles in the series - they've shown the regular Tele and the Tele Deluxe HH (which now has the large 70s Strat-shaped headstock like the original 70s Tele Deluxes). Based on what I've seen for the upcoming American Pro II Strats that they will be using pine (roasted ash I believe) as the replacement for ash.

Check out this thread from a few days ago - it's fallen off the first page:

The Mod Shop prices have gone up remarkably as well. The Strat I got a few months ago would price out more than $300 higher now. Glad I got in when I did.

Yeah! All the less popular colors should be "reliced" by cheerleaders and football players and then stuffed in lockers and trash cans. Losers! :D:lol:

I absolutely love it. Glad I got it when I did.

4 years and Fender feels the need for a name change!
Nothing stays the same, everything changes ...of course .... but I personally think some companies need to be careful regarding this flibbertigibbet approach to marketing.

Change the message too many times and too often and it all just becomes confused, imo. ie do they know/what exactly are they trying to establish? [Where the topic can be anything, not just guitars]

They're not selling computer games, or whatever that constantly need a new name to attract new/repeat buyers...but, or so I thought, are (should be) building a brand to inspire trust and loyalty ...can only presume I'm wrong?

How strange. I note a few spaces with 'null' instead of a picture. I suspect those are the missing Professional models. I wonder if we'll be seeing discounts on remaining stocks as we did with the Standards...

There's been talk of this happening for a while. They'll soon be back with the usual new name, quality downgrades and raised prices.
