    I have an old Turbo Rat with original LM-whatever thing. I had Kinnatone add the switch to go from LED, standard, and no clipping diodes. I love that pedal. The Fat Rat is intriguing, though.

    I used that fact to get an even cheaper price from my sales rep. ;)

    Biggest surprise: the MOSFET mode doesn’t clean up as well as the stock mode when you roll off the guitar volume.

    Smallest surprise: the Fat mode gets you into Muff territory.

    Fat mode is great for lower gain settings IMO. The Rat gets a bit thin with the distortion below 10:00. I love the Fat Rat at 18v in fat mode with the distortion at 9:00. Not the classic Rat sound, but it’s a great rhythm crunch and cleans up nicely when rolling back the guitar volume control.
